Newborn screening (NBS) programs may face funding challenges through limited resources and budget cuts at the state level. At the 2018 Annual Newborn Screening Timeliness Meeting, this workshop helped programs think through their current revenue and expenditures and provide tools to assess costs so that money can potentially be reallocated to help support NBS timeliness initiatives, including building staff capacity.
