Newborn Screening Report Card
The Education Workgroup, a collaboration between NBS Excel/NewSTEPs and Expecting Health, is pleased to share three resources designed to support newborn screening (NBS) programs in developing and using effective performance report cards.
The resources provide practical guidance and tools to support newborn screening programs throughout the performance report card development and/or enhancement process:
- Supplemental Guide to Using Performance Report Cards in NBS Programs: Provides practical guidance across the full lifecycle of performance report card development, from defining measures and collecting data to visualizing results, sharing findings, and measuring impact.
- Performance Report Card Checklist: Provides a practical checklist that NBS programs can use as they develop performance report cards.
- Performance Report Card Template: A customizable template that can be used for fried bloodspot, hearing, and CCHD reporting.
We hope these resources will help NBS programs develop meaningful performance report cards that effectively communicate program performance and support quality improvement.
Please direct questions about these resources to Noah Sinangil (noah.sinangil@aphl.org) or Marianna Raia (mraia@expectinghealth.org.
