Newborn Screening Treatment Series: Part 3: Roundtable on Treatment Access and Collaboration

The APHL NewSTEPs New Disorders Subcommittee hosted a three-part webinar series that explored the latest advancements in treatment for both legacy and newly added newborn screening (NBS) disorders and the critical challenges of access. Designed for NBS programs staff, clinicians, policymakers, and partners, this series covered innovative therapies for NBS disorders, strategies for managing new conditions with limited treatment sites, and collaborative solutions to improve access.

The final webinar in this series provided an open forum for NBS programs to share real-world experiences and insights on treatment access. During this session, participants discussed key barriers and facilitators to accessing therapies for NBS disorders and also highlighted practical, actionable strategies for improving access across jurisdictions.
