Supply Shortages
  • Supply shortages may include: gloves, kits, reagents
  • Concern about security and the future availability of PPE (specificially masks, gloves and disposable coats). Protection is needed for staff during the emergency as some families and messengers from birthing facilities go into laboratories.
  • Mobilize supplies among state NBS programs if needed  
  • Provide hospitals/ birthing facilities with extra newborn screening kits to ensure their supply will not run out
  • The New York NBS program has been reaching out directly to vendors to see if they anticipate any shortages in supplies.
